Ruszkiewicz to Hold August 18 Campaign Kickoff
Plans to restore trust in county government
(Pine Island, NY) – Paul Ruszkiewicz will announce his campaign for Orange County Legislator, District 3 at an official launch event on Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Pine Island Town Park.
“I’m excited about kicking off the campaign and getting reacquainted with my friends in the District, as well as meeting those who may not know me yet,” Ruszkiewicz said. “It’s clear that County Government has lost the trust of the people they’ve been elected to represent. I am committed to leading with honesty, transparency and accountability when I am elected.”
“As a small businessman and fourth-generation onion grower in Pine Island, I represent the experiences and values that come with honest hard work, persistence and follow through on commitments. Along with representing the people, I commit to working on the critical issues facing our region locally, as well as in Albany and Washington,” Ruszkiewicz added.
Ruszkiewicz has held various leadership positions locally, including President of the Orange County Vegetable Growers Association; Chairman of the NYS Onion Industry Council; and Chairman of the Wallkill Valley Drainage Improvement Association. He also serves as a member of the Town of Warwick Community Preservation Board.
The kickoff barbecue will be held under the Pavilion at Pine Island Town Park, Kay Road, Pine Island from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Hamburgers, hot dogs and assorted refreshments will be available. Public welcome; event admission $25, kids are admitted free. Event proceeds will benefit Paul’s campaign.
