The Orange County Federation of Republican Women formally endorsed Paul Ruszkiewicz (R,C,I - Pine Island) for re-election as County Legislator.

During the past four years I have had the honor of serving as your County Legislator in District 3. I came into the Legislature during a turbulent time. The County fund balance had been depleted to a dangerously low level, Moody’s downgraded our bond rating, the future of Valley View was uncertain, and the fate of the Government center was still being debated. I am proud to say that through the hard work of the Legislature and County Executive, we have made great progress on all of these issues.
The County budget has been decreased by $26 Million, our fund balance is up and Moody’s has changed our outlook from negative to stable. Due to early retirement incentives and separation agreements we have reduced the size of the County workforce with no layoffs, saving the County Millions. We have done this without reducing services and in many cases have improved services to our residents. Valley View has turned around and is doing well. And the Government Center is scheduled to re-open this fall.
I have worked hard with my fellow legislators to bring positive change to Orange County and I am committed to continuing to do so over the next four years.
